Before anything, know this is true - I miss my sister Cheyenne. She can't be with us over Christmas and I ache for her. I wish she was here.
A song played during the slideshow at the reception of the first wedding of our season that made me miss music. If you're so inclined, you can stop reading and listen here*. I used to have my own podcast, listen & donate! to KEXP in Seattle. I went to shows weekly(ish) and planned by summers around festivals. Now Caspar Babypants rules the iPod roost and if you haven't got a little kid in your life, don't bother looking him up.
Talking to my sister as she did her final Target trip before her trip down here, I missed it. She put me on FaceTime and I walked the aisles of my favorite store with her. Oh lordy how I'd like to hug one of those folks clad in khaki & red, maybe do a little price checking at a price check station, toss an extra long and lean into my basket and cruise the seasonal section, cause you never know.
And I miss my friends from my job. I don't miss the job (though I had some lovely clients) and I don't miss my bat shit crazy bosses. I miss my friends that made the days full of laughter and light even when the place we worked was descending into darkness.
Other than that, I don't think I'm really missing much. Being that 'tis the season of list making, I invite you to tell me what I may be missing. Clearly, I'm missing music, but there's got to be other stuff. Please don't tell me about Serial though. I listened weekly, from the start, diligently (Adnan is an unlucky mother fucker. That's right. I said it. Not guilty). Let's be honest there's got to be something you've got worth sharing. Do it. I'm listening.
*Excuse me if you've heard this a millions times. I've heard it a few times but I'm listening on in repeat right now, just grinnin'.
